The waste disposal system at the "Offner Holzindustrie" sawmill is designed to collect sawdust and wood chips separately within the chipper canter line and then screen the wood offcuts separately in order to satisfy the quality requirements for the chips. In addition to wood chips and sawdust, fine chips are screened out and stored separately.

A great deal of emphasis was placed on the cleanliness of the plant at the planning stage. Clearance height is maintained below the waste removal conveyor in the main line and in the roundwood feed; instead of the usual support from below, the conveyor is suspended from above and nearly 1,000 m² of metal sheeting is attached.
